Explore Ohakaua-Ost: Cattle Farm and Meat Shop

Updated: Jun 15

Nestled 35 km north of Otjiwarongo along Namibia’s storied B1 highway, Ohakaua Wagyu Breeders sprawls across 5 000 hectares of gently rolling grasslands. Here, sunrise paints the camps in gold—seven distinct grazing paddocks, each anchored by a central beeskraal equipped for low-stress handling and animal welfare. From these heartbeats of activity, four subdivided grazing areas fan out like the spokes of a wheel, ensuring every herd member has fresh pasture under the wide African sky.

Founded in 2012 and proudly home to Namibia’s first imported Wagyu stock in 2016, Ohakaua has blossomed into a premier breeding operation. Our focus on genetic diversity and animal wellbeing ensures a healthy, thriving herd across all ages and stages. Sustainable stewardship guides every decision: strategically installed flood-gates along natural waterways keep channels clear during rains, protecting riparian habitats while preserving soil health.
